This is my first review so I thought I'd give it a go since I see people hating on Martinez and I want to give an honest review after using him for 50 games in division rivals.
PACE - 5
Obviously he is not the fastest of players with 49 acceleration and 53 sprint speed and it is very noticeable in game but with the way pace is this year it didn't feel like it was a deal breaker.
SHOOTING - 4
I never really shot with Martinez i left him away from the attack as much as possible and left him in the defence to help with the break down against counter attacks but I wouldn't at all advise you to try and shoot with him with his very low 43 finishing.
PASSING - 7
He doesn't have the best passing on his base card with only 77 short passing but for some reason he does feel around the 85 range with passing he feels quite articulate when he passes so it isn't a stat that I would look into too much.
DRIBBLING - 5
I won't lie this guy feels like I'm turning a bus on a one way street, I would not advise trying to dribble with him at all soon as he's got the ball get it away from him as fast as possible to another player. With 48 balance and 60 dribbling you have to expect this in game.
DEFENDING - 9
Now this is where Martinez excels he is a defensive mastermind, I used an anchor chemistry style on him so he got a good boost in defensive and physical stats. Every stat in the defensive sub is over 85 without a chemistry style applied. He feels like he always wins the 50/50 tackling we've got to know this year. The best thing about this guy is his interceptions because he is 6'3 he just comes out of nowhere and intercepts balls I didn't even see myself and i'm not talking about the standing there and intercepting i'm talking Martinez will read the pass before you have even passed it and run to intercept that ball like a there's nothing more he wants. With this guy as your CDM he will break down counter attacks and constantly win the ball back for your team.
PHYSICALITY - 9
Now this guy is strong and I mean strong. With that height of 6'3 that strength of 84 with the bonus of 90 aggression he will push pretty much everyone off the ball like they're nothing, even if you have pace Martinez will just use his body as a shield to stop you running past him, he is actually the shield of the team. That height and jumping of 85 he will also win every header coming his way. He does have the bigger body build in game so it makes him feel even stronger when using him but also makes him feel a little more clunkier. His stamina is a slight let down but most of the game he is a stay back defensive mid so I don't expect him to be running around past the half way line but he can still play a full game to his full potential.
For only near 4k coins this guy is an absolute tank in midfield, He also has the popular bayern and spanish link to help with creating squads. Yes i wouldn't use him over a kante' but for the value for money he is such a good value to have in your team early stage. This is my first review of a player and I hope i'll do more reviews of players in the future, thanks.
